The Chubby Little Snowman
The chubby little snowman
had a carrot nose.
Along came a bunny
and what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny,
looking for it's lunch,
Ate the snowman's carrot nose...
Nibble, Nibble, CRUNCH! |
I'm a Little Snowman
Tune: I'm a Little Teapot
I'm a little snowman,
round and fat.
Here is my broomstick,
Here is my hat.
When the sun comes out
I melt away.
Down, Down, Down, Down,
WHOOPS! I'M A PUDDLE |
|
Five Little Snowmen
Five little snowmen shivering in the ice.
The first one said,
"This isn't very nice."
The second one said,
" I can hardly wait for spring."
The third one said,
"Then birds will sing!"
The fourth one said,
"Here comes the bright,
warm sun!"
The fifth one said,
"This is our last day of fun!
"Aah," said the snowmen as warm breezes blew.
Five little snowmen know winter is through. |
Five Little Snowmen
Tune: Six Little Ducks
Five little snowmen went out to play
Over the hills and far away.
When the sun came out,
it melted one away.
Four little snowmen came back that day.
(Repeat until you get to zero)
Zero little snowmen went out to play
Over the hills and far away.
But when winter came back,
it brought snow along the way.
Then five little snowmen came back that day! |
|
Snowflakes
Tune: Sailing, Sailing
Snowflakes, snowflakes,
falling to the ground,
Each one rests so gently,
they never make a sound.
Snowflakes, snowflakes,
are so pure and white,
The special thing about them is
No two are alike! |
Dance Like Snowflakes
Tune: Frere Jacques
Dance like snowflakes,
Dance like snowflakes,
In the air.
In the air.
Whirling, twirling snowflakes,
Whirling, twirling snowflakes,
Here and there.
Here and there. |
|
I Love Snow
Tune: Three Blind Mice
I love snow. I love snow.
Soft, white snow;
soft, white snow.
It falls on the ground so soft and white.
Sometime it falls all through the night.
Did you ever see such a beautiful sight
As soft white snow? |
Snowflakes
Tune: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Snowflakes, snowflakes falling down,
On the trees and on the ground.
I will build a man of snow,
Tall black hat and eyes of coal,
If the sun comes out today,
I will watch you melt away! |
|
Two Little Snowflakes
Way up high in the winter sky,
2 little snowflakes caught my eye.
Down to the ground they fell without a sound.
And before very long,
It was snowing all around. |
Snowflakes Falling Down
Tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Snowflakes falling down,
Falling to the ground.
Big, white fluffy flakes
That do not make a sound. |
|
You Are My Snowman
Tune: You Are My Sunshine
You are my snowman,
My only snowman.
You make me happy,
On days of gray.
And when the sun's out,
You'll hear us all shout.
Please don't take our snowman away! |
Snow Falls On My Shoulders
Snow falls on my shoulders.
(wiggle fingers in the air and touch shoulders)
Snow falls on the ground.
(wiggle fingers down to ground)
Snow falls all around me.
(wiggle fingers all around)
Snow makes not a sound.
(bring index finger to lips) |
|
I'm A Friendly Snowman
Tune: I'm a Little Teapot
I'm a friendly snowman,
big and fat,
Here is my tummy
and here is my hat.
I'm a happy fellow,
here's my nose,
I'm all snow from my
head to my toes!
I have two bright eyes
so I can see,
All the snow falling down on me.
When the weather's cold,
I'm strong and tall,
But when it's warm, I get very small! |
Snowflakes
Tune Mary Had A Little Lamb
Snowflakes falling
from the sky,
from the sky,
from the sky,
Snowflakes falling from the sky, to the earth below.
Watch them as they
dance and whirl,
dance and whirl,
dance and whirl,
Watch them as they dance and whirl,
soft white winter snow. |
|
Snowflakes, Snowflakes
Tune: Twinkle Twinkle
Snowflakes falling
One by one,
Time to play and have some fun.
Build a snowman
Snowballs, too,
Come and see what you can do.
Snowflakes falling
One by one,
Time to play and have some fun. |
Snowflakes Falling
Tune: Up on
the Housetop
Snowflakes are falling on the ground
On our houses and in our town
On my nose and in my hair
Snowflakes are falling everywhere.
Oh, oh, oh, out we go
Oh, oh, oh, in the snow
Making snowmen
Sliding, too,
There are lots of things to do. |
|
Snow
Tune: This
old Man
Snow is falling on the ground
We can make things all around
Like snowmen, snowballs
Snow forts, too.

Sliding, skating, skiing, too,
There are lots of things to do. |
Weather Song
Tune: Frere Jacque
It is snowing,
It is snowing,
On the street,
Round our feet.

It's so cold,
It's so cold. |

ABC Order
Use a small Carson Dellosa snowman notepad and write
letters A-Z on 26 sheets. Laminate. Have the children
use an ABC chart or poster to put the letters in
alphabetical order. |

Snowball Bingo
Add a snowy twist to your everyday bingo games - use
mini marshmallows (snowballs) as bingo markers!
Use it for letter recognition, sight words, rhyming -
whatever skill you're working on! |
|
Snowman Book
Make a snowman color book focusing on color word
recognition. Either draw the snowman and add the details
or use a clipart picture for each page.

Rhyming Word Snowball Match

snowballs. Find several pictures of rhyming pairs (cat,
hat, mat; jar, car, star). Have the children place the
rhyming snowballs together. |
|
Snowman Color Word Match
Photocopy a picture of a snowman 10 times. Write a color

place the same color buttons on the snowman's belly. |

Snowy Letter Writing Practice
Pour some salt into a dark colored paper plate and have
children practice writing letters, names, and sight

File Folder Game
Print out
an
Icy Igloo Alphabet
file folder game from Preschool Printables. |

Math Activities
|
Snowflake Match
Use a set of Carson Dellosa Snowflake Colorful Cutouts.
Use ten of the snowflakes to write the numerals 1 - 10

each one. The children can play this game as a
memory/concentration game with a friend. |

place that amount of buttons on the snowman's belly.
 |
|
Numeral Writing Practice
Write the numerals 1 - 12 on the inside bottom of an egg
carton. Also, photocopy a paper with snowflake pictures
on it. Have a child place a cottonball (snowball) inside
the egg carton, close it, and shake it. When they open
it they identify the numeral of the cup that the
cottonball is in and write the numeral on the snowflake
paper. |
|
Snowflake Counting Game
Use ten sheets of a large Carson Dellosa snowman notepad
or a snowman clipart picture. Glue each one onto a 1/2
sheet of colored construction paper. In the upper left
hand corner write one numeral from 1 - 10. Also place
the same amount of snowflake stickers beside the
numeral. Write the number word in the bottom right hand
corner. Laminate. To play this game have the children
identify the numeral (or count the stickers or read the
number word) and place the correct amount of snowflake
erasers

Give the children white construction paper scraps and
have them rip it into small pieces. Then, I give each

squeeze the glue on in a large snowman shape and the
children place their white scraps onto the glue. They
also use different colored scrap papers to add details
and a white crayon (or chalk) to add snowflakes. |
|
Pattern Block Snowflakes
Cut out 8x8 squares of blue construction paper.
Also cut out a variety of pattern block shapes on white
paper.
(The Math Their Way Book has whole sheets you can copy)
