Our Full Day Kindergarten Schedule

8:20 - 8:45  Table Activities
We begin to get settled into our day by playing games at the tables.  I put out theme related games that focus on skills and concepts we are working on in class.  It also allows the children to talk and play with their friends before the day begins.

8:45 - 9:15  Morning Meeting
We always begin our day with Morning Meeting.  We sing a name song, shake hands and say Good Morning to our friends, salute the flag and sing a patriotic song, and do calendar and weather activities.  At Morning Meeting we also read our Morning Message together.  We read about who the daily helper is and the days events and special happenings.

9:15 - 9:30  Journals
Each child has their own journal with a seasonal cover for each month.  Most of the time I give the children a topic to work on, but sometimes they can do "free writing and drawing".  I usually encourage them to draw a picture, and then write letters, words, or a sentence to go with it.
